Our Region's annual Sirius Cup Regatta was held on March 20-22, and saw around 800 participants from over 40 Scout Groups take part, with most camping at Balmoral Oval. It was an activity-packed weekend with canoe, sailing, and rowing races for all agegroups.

Over March 7-8, the Sydney North Region Rockcraft Team ran a Canyoning Adventure Weekend, based at Mt Wilson in the Blue Mountains.

Canyoning involves descending through narrow gorges, abseiling waterfalls, and swimming through deep and cold pools.

The weekend was very popular with Venturer Scouts (ages 15-17), Rovers (ages 18-25), and Leaders from across Sydney North, with around 45 taking part, ably led by a team of ten experienced qualified guides.

Eleven different canyons were undertaken over the two days, in groups of up to six people.

Sydney North runs several Canyoning Adventure Weekends during the warmer months, as well as guide and specialised technique training.
